Fashion, is the most happening event in all over the word for every age of life especially, youth. Mere mention of this word is enough to raise excitement in youths. Dressing oneself with latest trend of clothing is not just the fashion mean but fashion is the choice of apparels and accessories which reflects the over all personality.

People from all over the world, turns to catch the trendy clothes for their human shape by viewing different celebrities. The celebrities from different categories like sport, film industry and other public figures are the inspirations for youths when it comes to fashion and style. We wear, what brad pitt wore in certain movie or Katie holmes flaunted at certain event. This is the fashion scenario of all over the world.

Talking about Indian fashion scenario, it is not different from the world. Bollywood actors are the biggest inspiration for youths when it comes to fashion. Certain sport icons and public figures like politicians and businessmen also inspire Indian youths. Fashion was always there in Indian minds and many Bollywood celebrities inspired different trends in their time.

We can not forget the hair style of Sadhna which became quite a rage at that time, the well bottom of Amitabh Bacchan which still remains in the minds of our parents and many more like that. But in 1990s the winners of two global beauty contests won by Indian models, Sushmita Sen and Aishwarya rai popularized the fashion in Indian youths. We can say that 2000s is the global period for fashion.

Fashion industry in India is all time high due to the growing awareness of trends. Fashion design council of India (FDCI) organizes several events to promote fashion trends and designers.

Wills lifestyle India fashion week

Wills lifestyle India week is organized by FDCI and sponsored by ITC group in National capital Delhi. WIFW is Asia’s biggest fashion extravaganza. It is organized twice in the year as spring/summer collection and winter fall collection. The event is the best place to promote new designers. WIFW autumn winter collection will be held in April 2011.

Lakme Fashion week

This fashion week is organized jointly by global cosmetic giant Lakme and entertainment and media IMG in Mumbai. The Lakme fashion weeks is organized twice annually. LFW gives golden opportunity to emerging designers to launch their creations. The summer/resort 2011, will be held in March 2011, at hotel Grand Hyatt, Mumbai.

These weeks and various other fashion shows provide emerging fashion designers a launch pad and also raise fashion awareness among youths. Many big names of Indian fashion fraternity have been emerged from these fashion weeks like JJ walaya, Rohit Bal, Rohit Gandhi, Ritu beri etc.
